ScotlandsPeople Centre
Welcome to the ScotlandsPeople Centre
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday, 09:00 to 16:30. Visitors can pre-book £10 day search places by phoning0131 314 4300 or by email (via our online Bookings form).
You may pre-pay, allowing you to go straight to your seat. We also have FREE introductory taster sessions in the
Adam Dome between 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00.
You cannot pre-book these. Drop by and see if there are free seats. Please use the form on our Contact us page to email enquiries.

• Sir Jackie Stewart and his family visited the Centre recently for an insight into the research facilities we used to compile Sir Jackie's family history. Photographs have been added to our Famous Scots Exhibition Gallery. • Various customers have written to the Registrar General regarding plans to remove access to microfilm/fiche at the Centre. A copy of the response is available by clicking here: Letter to customers, January 22 2010. • Several new sites containing a wealth of genealogical information have been added to our useful websites list - these are outlined on the What's new page in the Research section. • Family historians have been given access for the first time to information from the National Identity Register drawn up at the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. • ScotlandsPeople Centre will be represented at various family history events in 2010, commencing with the 'Who Do You Think You Are' events at Olympia Hall, London, Friday 26 - Sunday 28 February 2010Centre Resources
Visitors can access digitised key Scottish resources such as birth, marriage and death records, wills, census records and coats of arms, going back almost 500 years. Staff are on hand to offer help and advice and there are Help and Information manuals available. The costs for all our services, including prints or electronic saves, are detailed in our Charges page.Centre shop and café
