Miscellaneous Records
The Miscellaneous Manuscript Records held in the custody of the Registrar General for Scotland consist of:
— Duplicate or scroll copies of Old Parish Registers
— Private records of births, deaths and marriages kept by church ministers and others
— Registers of births, deaths and marriages of non-Church of Scotland parish churches
— Registers of Irregular Border marriages
— Registers of postponed vaccinations
Most entries in these records are included in the Old Parish Register indexes of baptisms and marriages. Copies of the records are available on microfilm in the Centre.
For further details and references see the Miscellaneous Records catalogue. Photocopies and transcripts of birth, death, marriage and population records are available in the Library.
