Births
Following the amendment act in 1855 less information was requested in the following years and it was condensed into one page in the registers. This format remained constant until 1965 when major legislation was introduced. The following information can be found on birth certificates.— Name and surname
— Where and when born
— Sex
— Name, surname and occupation of father
— Name and maiden surname of mother
— Date and place of the parents' marriage
— Signature, address (if not the place of birth) and relation of informant
— Where and when the marriage was registered and the signature of registrar
From 1965 onwards the following extra information may be found as more detail has been added in subsequent years.
— The mother's occupation
— The mother's address
