Scots at Work Exhibition
If you are coming to the ScotlandsPeople Centre before 21 June 2013, please take time to visit our latest display, Scots at Work, in the Adam Dome. For more information, please see our Scots at Work page. Family History Event - Tuesday 21st May 2013, General Register House, 2 Princes Street, Edinburgh New to Family History? Why not come along to our Family History event on Tuesday, 21st May. It starts at 1 pm and finishes at 4 pm. You will hear about ScotlandsPeople Centre and our records, and get the opportunity to do some research using our computer search system. Light refreshments (included in the ticket price) are provided during the event. There is a charge of £5.00 per place, which must be paid in advance, and seats can be booked by telephone (0131 314 4300 - option 1) or calling in person at the ScotlandsPeople Centre, General Register House. Our opening hours are Monday-Friday, 09:00-16:30. For details of our opening times, please see the opening hours page. To pre-book a day search place, phone 0131 314 4300 between 09:00 - 12:30 and 13:30 - 16:30 or email (via our online Bookings form). By pre-paying you can go straight to your seat. Change of Access to the Historical and Legal Search Rooms
From Monday 2nd July 2012, the Garden Entrance will be closed permanently.
All access to the Historical and Legal Search Rooms will be by the front entrance of General Register House, through the Scotlands People Centre Reception.
Lockers are available in the Reception area - these take a £1.00 coin or token, which is returned once the locker is re-opened.
